Michalis Michalis was born in Kato Varosi to parents who came from Vokolida. In 1967, at the age of 12, they moved to London. In August 1974, a volunteer came to fight in Cyprus together with many other Cypriots on the ship “Arion”. Seeing the tragic situation in Cyprus, he leaves for Athens with many other refugees. He arranges many of them in hotels and other accommodation in Athens, while arranging some of them to go back to London with him.

Return and new odyssey

He returned to Cyprus in 1978 and served his military service in the transmissions. He lives in Larnaca. There he meets his wife Marianna, who comes from Montenegro.

In 1995 he moved with his family to South Africa, where he managed to become an accomplished businessman, as on his farm he produces traditional Greek and Cypriot dairy products which are admired by the Greek community there.

In 2008, after receiving threats for his life, he sold his farm and returned to Cyprus with his family. They had been brutally murdered by other whites in Africa to force them all to leave.
