The veteran Cypriot football player Michalis Morfi gave an interview to 24H together with his wife of Iotas.
The beloved athlete also spoke about his career at APOEL and which teams stand out in this year's championship, which coach he considers strong and much more.

APOEL, one of the most historic and largest clubs in Cyprus. You had glorious times with them, good and bad. Tell me a little about it.
Look, I have won 8 championships with APOEL as a player and as a coach and 3 cups. I have celebrated in front of this wonderful world and trophies and great victories. What can I say, except lucky and grateful!
If you could go back in time, what moment would you like to relive and why?Maybe winning the Championship in 2006-2007 and the only reason is because my son was 2 years old and I would like to see him again at a young age, since he is now 19.
Many people refer to the glorious football of those days times compared to today. Are you really justifying this? Are there quality athletes today and quality football?
I believe that teams have options to bring quality players from all over Europe. But let me say whether the bad choices or other expedients, many times it is wasted money. But there are also footballers who raise the level and help a lot. In our time, the rumor was that most footballers were Cypriots and natives of the fans. So, I can say we loved and fought more for the jersey and the ideals of the team.
How many years have you been off the field? Now you are also involved with academies but you are also a coach.I finished my career in 2014, and it's been 10 years since I've been a coach. I was also involved with the academies until 2018 when I went back to APOEL and now I am in Doxa.
Which teams do you stand out in this year's championship and who do you think will take the title? There are very good teams that will claim the championship. I personally believe that APOEL, Apollonas and Aris will be the main contenders for the championship. If you were offered a position as a coach at APOEL, what would you say? I have worked as a goalkeeper coach at APOEL from 2018 to 2021, with two league titles and participation up to the 32 of EUROPALEGUE. If you're referring to head coach, no it's not my job.
Favorite foreign player and why? Now I don't have a specific one. At a younger age I had some temptations, but back then!
