The possible relaxation in the restrictions will depend on the Advisory Scientific Committee, said to KYPE, the Minister of Health Michalis Hadjipandella, who stated that the situation with the number of cases and the reduction in hospitalizations is stabilizing at the moment while the next few days are expected to bring better results.
Asked if decisions will be taken to relax the restrictive measures, the Minister said that “on Tuesday it will be decided after I will meet with the Scientific Advisory Committee. We do not have something in mind now. We will wait until Tuesday. “A lot can change with the coronavirus, we will see how the cases will go, the hospitalizations and we will decide accordingly”.
Certainly, he noted there will be suggestions from scientists for relaxation. The goal, he said, is to meet on Tuesday at 7.45 in the morning before the Ministerial and then to go to the Ministerial at 10.00.
Asked if we could hope for an end to the Spring pandemic, Hadjipandella said “no one can know that.”
In relation to the current period we are going through, the Minister stated that “the situation in our country is good, there should be no complacency and we must study any findings very carefully.”
He pointed out that “we are doing very well”, adding that “yesterday the hospitalizations were reduced below 200, we are waiting to see in the coming days and we will decide accordingly”.
We believe, he continued, that in the coming days there will be a further reduction, but it is not something we can be sure of.
Regarding the “test to stay” measure, he said that it is successful and this is proven by the numbers and tests that are done every day. He goes to the National Guard and soon to our hospitals “.
Noting that many deaths from coronavirus are recorded in February, the Minister said that “the increase in deaths is a global phenomenon, they are people who have not been vaccinated and we call on the unvaccinated to be vaccinated so that they do not end up in hospitals.”
As for the vaccinations, he said that they have not been sent and that there is an increase, we have about 3 thousand vaccinations per day. That is, note a number satisfactory with the data we have.
“The message I want to send is for the people to follow the measures of the Ministry, to take frequent tests and not to be complacent”, added Mr. Hadjipandela.
