Cyprus always acts as a pillar of stability for the wider region of the Eastern Mediterranean and cooperates with those who share the principles and values of the European Union and beyond, Defense Minister Charalambos Petridis said today.
In statements at the 1 Conference of the Cyprus Air Force held at a beach hotel in Larnaca, the Minister said that "this is the first two-day aviation conference held in Cyprus, with the participation of more than 13 countries".
"We are acting and looking at the overall dimension, the new technologies and through the experience of foreign countries, we can see in a more way how the interdisciplinary nature can increase but also the future and the future movements and collaborations of the Republic of Cyprus,", he said.
He added that "we clearly see that the extroversion of the National Guard is a given, we have concluded agreements with more than 15 countries and it is clear that the National Guard now cooperates with many countries inside and outside the European Union".
This, he continued "is the goal always within the framework of International Law and the Law of the Sea, so that we can cooperate with all countries in the best possible way. Of course there are huge advantages that we can get» he said.
In response to a journalist's observation that the holding of the Conference sends multiple messages to neighbors, the Minister of Defense said that “Turkey's delinquency is a given, but also its provocation.” We insist on diplomacy, we insist on International Law, we insist on insisting on what we really have to do, which is to try to exhaust diplomacy.
