The Government's goal is to employ political asylum seekers, in order to address the growing problem of lack of human resources that employs companies in many sectors of the economy, said the Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance, Zeta Aimilianidou.

In her statements, after the session of the Parliamentary Labor Committee and when asked about it, Ms. Aimilianidou said that she has already issued a decree based on the powers of the law, about fifteen days ago, which has simplified the process of hiring political asylum seekers.
“With the simplification contained in this decree,” he said, “an employer can, with a responsible statement and in compliance with the provisions of labor law, hire an asylum seeker and has a period of one month, so that he can sign the contract.”
He said the government's goal is to employ political asylum seekers, adding that this should be done in jobs that are eligible for employment.
He also said that on Monday he will meet with the social partners to discuss ways and safeguards for the problem of staff shortages.
He noted, finally, that the Labor Advisory Body has long ago raised the issue of modernizing the strategy of employment of foreign workers.
