An estimated 17.1 million Americans watched one of Prince Harry's and Megan's wives' televised interview at Oprah Winfrey in one of the biggest television events of the past year, CBS News reported today.
According to the American television network, yesterday's two-hour interview, during which Harry and Megan accused the British royal family of racism and failure to protect them from negative media coverage, was the television event with the largest viewership in a year beyond the Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl attracts an audience of about 100 million and is the most watched television event in the United States. Last year, the Oscars were watched by 23.6 million viewers.
