In today's announcement, the Morphou Diocese states that the Metropolitan of Morphou will not attend the enthronement of the His Beatitude Archbishop of Cyprus Mr. Georgios, conveying wishes to the new Archbishop for “good consolidation” in his duties.
“We inform the pious Christ-named staff of the Church of Cyprus, that His Eminence the Metropolitan of Morphou, Mr. Neophytos, would like to attend the enthronement ceremony of His Beatitude the Archbishop of Cyprus and C George on Sunday, 08.01.2023, but he prefers to remain in his humble cell, praying, both for His Beatitude of Cyprus, and for the trial His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine, Mr. Onufrio”, the announcement states.
< p>He adds that the Metropolitan of Vysgorod and Chernobyl, Mr. Pavlos, as well as his entourage are “threatened and persecuted by the troops of the Khazarian president of Ukraine, Mr. Zelensky”. He also adds that since the evening of December 31, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has been prohibited from holding services.
Finally, the Morphou Diocese wishes “good confirmation to His Beatitude Archbishop of Cyprus Mr. George, enlightenment from above and support in his diverse pastoral duties”.
