Interest rates for corporate loans also increased

An increase of 1.25% was recorded in interest rates for housing loans in March 2023 compared to February 2023, according to statistics from the Central Bank of Cyprus, while interest rates for corporate loans also increased.

At the same time, interest rates for household deposits decreased by 0.12%, while interest rates for business deposits increased.

As regards lending rates, the interest rate for consumer loans decreased to 5.05%, compared to 5.17% the previous month.

The interest rate on home loans rose to 4.67%, compared to 3.42% the previous month month.

The interest rate regarding loans to non-financial companies for amounts up to €1 million showed an increase to 5.60%, compared to 4.85% the previous month. The interest rate on loans to non-financial companies for amounts over €1 million recorded an increase to 5.29%, compared to 4.54% the previous month.

As regards deposit rates, the interest rate for deposits with a term of up to one year from households decreased to 0.47%, compared to 0.59% in the previous month.

The corresponding rate for deposits from non-financial companies showed an increase to 1.12 %, compared to 0.69% in the previous month.
