The announcement of the Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport
Watering works, construction of retaining walls and replacement safety barriers on highways in the provinces of Larnaca and Limassol and the closure of traffic lanes for this reason, the Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announced on Wednesday, giving details of the days and hours of the works as well as the channeling of traffic.
As reported, from Monday August 26, 2024 to Thursday August 29, 2024, every day between the hours of 8:30-16:00, on the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni highway, irrigation works will be carried out on the central islet by the Department of Forestry.
< p>It is also reported that during the execution of the works on the highway, from the Rizoelias roundabout to Xylotymbou, the tangential traffic lane of the central island in the direction of Ayia Napa will be partially closed for a length of 1.5 km. each time and the traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
It is also noted that in the period 26 August 2024 until 13 September 2024, the construction of retaining walls will be carried out by a private contracting company on a section of the Episkopi-Mandria road (E601 ), in X.Th. 9+000 – X.Th. 9+300, despite the village of Suni.
Please note that during the above period, one of the two traffic lanes of the road will be closed for a length of 150m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane with alternating traffic management with temporary traffic lights.
It is added that during the period August 26, 2024 to August 29, 2024, from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. :00 the following day, safety guard replacement works will be carried out daily on sections of the Limassol-Nicosia highway and the Limassol Bypass Road, in the section from the uneven Moni junction to the uneven junction of New Hospital in both directions.
It is noted that during the execution of the works one lane of the highway will be partially closed for 200 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
“The Department of Public Works apologizes for the unavoidable inconvenience that will be caused and calls on the public to show the necessary understanding and to comply with the temporary road markings and the instructions of the Police”, the announcement concludes.
