The Police Authorities were put on alert on Wednesday morning after information about shootings that took place in Geri in the province of Nicosia.
According to the first information, the shootings took place outside a house around 09:10 on Wednesday morning and members of the police rushed to the spot immediately as an ambulance. The reason seems to be a parking place, as politis.com.cy informs. Specifically, the victim and his father lived on a two-story building in Geri and the perpetrator went and parked on their sidewalk and closed their entrance. This morning they remarked on him and argued.
In fact, the perpetrator first went to his house next door, hit the two men with a stick, left and returned with his shotgun and started shooting, killing his son and injuring his father, who is in the hospital out of danger.
The 58-year-old perpetrator was arrested.
In his statements to KYPE, the press spokesman of the Police, Christos Andreou, said that the perpetrator has been initially arrested for a self-inflicted crime.
“The 58-year-old is currently being investigated by the Police for premeditated murder and attempted murder,” he concluded.
