<p data-block-key=There is a need to immediately improve the legislation and the relevant regulations governing the written exams of the New Appointment System, the President of OLTEK Panagiotis Lysandros told KYPE, adding that the organization intends to request an immediate meeting with the Minister of Education, Athina Michailidou, to discuss ways of solving the serious distortions that, as he said, have become apparent with the implementation of the examinations of the New Appointment System.

“Following the results of the 2023 Appointments Examinations, it has once again been established that there is a need to immediately improve the legislation and relevant regulations governing the written examinations of the New Appointments System. Our organization's finding is that with the existing legislation and related regulations the requirement of 50% in each subject creates great inequalities and injustices,” he said.

He noted that this happens because the 2017 or 2019 exams, respectively, are a reference point for the statistical processing, with the result that the degree of difficulty in some courses is low while in others it is very high.

“Our organization intends to request an immediate meeting with the Minister of Education to discuss ways to resolve the serious distortions that have become apparent with the implementation of the exams of the New Appointment System”, he concluded.
