The Board of Directors of Alpha Bank Cyprus Ltd announces the appointment of Mr. Michalis Kolakidis, a distinguished executive with a long career in the business and banking arena, to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kolakidis holds a degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the London Business School. From 1979 to 1993, he worked at Citibank Greece and was the head of the Local Corporate Banking and Corporate Finance departments. In 1993 he was elected Vice President of the Board. and Deputy Governor at the National Bank of Greece while serving as Vice Chairman of the Board. of ETEVA and member of the Board other subsidiaries of Ε.Τ.Ε. In the period 1994 – 2000, he worked at the SA Group. TITAN Cement as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Board of the Group. In November 2000, he joined Piraeus Bank where he was the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of the Board of Directors and was responsible for the International Banking and Wholesale Banking Divisions, the Cash Management Division and the supervision of subsidiaries in Greece and abroad. In November 2007 he joined the management team of the Eurobank EFG Group as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors and took over the responsibility of the Risk Management of the Group. Since 2014 he has been the Group CFO of the TITAN Group, at the same time as the Managing Director of Titan Cement International SA

Mr. Michalis Kolakidis, for whose appointment the approval of the European Central Bank has been obtained, assumes his duties from today, November 3, succeeding Mr. Andreas Michailidis, who is leaving due to the completion of his maximum allowed term.
