New measures were announced in the occupied territories after the meeting of the “minister” to deal with the pandemic.

The measures were announced by “Prime Minister” Ersan Saner. He said that from February 22 there will be a traffic ban from 20:00 to 05:00. From February 22, on Saturday only markets, bakeries, butchers, gas stations, pharmacies can remain open and on Sundays will be allowed to operate only for pharmacies and bakeries.

Many businesses, such as concert halls, wedding and birthday halls, halls for religious ceremonies, casinos, restaurants and leisure centers, playgrounds, swimming pools, as well as barbershops, hairdressers and beauty salons, continue to be closed.

Residents of occupied Nicosia and Kyrenia are prohibited from going to Lefka, Morphou, Trikomo and Famagusta and if trafficking is necessary they must present a special certificate.

People working in the free areas will be able to go to work with a negative PCR test in the last 7 days.
