The environmental authority for a project on the construction and operation of a sheepfold in Agia Marina Xyliatou gave the green light.
The proposed organic milk production unit will have a capacity of 300 dairy sheep.
The project will include animal shelters, a milking parlor building, a milk cooler room, a temporary manure storage platform and other ancillary areas.
Regarding the use of renewable energy sources, a 5kW photovoltaic system will be installed on the sheds of the unit.
In addition to the accommodation, the animals will be fed in the shed for sheep and goats.
The milking of the animals will be carried out in the milking parlor using modern techniques.
The construction will be done with a steel bearing body. It will be made entirely of metal. Its roof and masonry will be covered by thermal insulation panels (polyurethane panels).
