The public doctors did not come to the meeting called for today by OKYPY for the distribution of the amount of 2.5 million euros to the various clinics-departments of the hospitals, raising the issue of procedures, and noting that they were not given the entire relevant study done by independent house.
In his statements to KYPE, the President of the Pancypriot Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) said that “our opinion is that the procedure was not followed as agreed while the part of the study that has been leaked is just a part. It is not the entire study, the conclusions and the recommendation of the economic analyst.”
Therefore, he continued, we await the full study and are very happy to discuss . “However, we also regret the fact that OKYpY sent us this part of the study without discussing with us”, he added.
For his part, the press representative of OKYPY Charalambos Harilaou told KYPE that we received the results of the study from the independent house which showed that the amount that should be paid to doctors as a vertical incentive is approximately 2.5 million euros, an amount smaller than what they claimed and it was more than 5 million euros.
“There is a commitment from both sides that any result would be accepted. We, for our part, will keep our commitment and distribute the 2.5 million to the doctors. We have invited the doctors' guilds to come today to distribute the amount to the various specialties and specialists but from what we have heard from the their statements will not come, which is regrettable,” he noted.
Replying to Mr. Koumas, Mr. Charilaou stated that “the result of the economic study by the independent house that was sent to us, was sent to the guilds as well. There is nothing else that should have been sent and was not sent, as they imply”.
