New president of CIPA Eugenios Eugeniou – What the Council of Ministers decided

A series of decisions were taken today by the Council of Ministers, among which is the appointment of Mr. Eugenios Eugenios as President of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) for the remainder of the four-year term to replace Mr. Giannis Matsi, who recently resigned.

According to a written statement by Deputy Government Spokeswoman Niovis Parisinou, “The Council of Ministers met this morning under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic, Speaker of the House of Representatives. Annitas Dimitriou. The following decisions were taken:

The Council of Ministers instituted the procedure that is still in force today in relation to the election of the person nominated by the Council of Ministers to the President of the Republic for the position of Commissioner for Administration and Protection of Human Rights. Details will be announced by the Ministry of Justice and Public Order.

The Council of Ministers also approved the establishment of an Advisory Committee on the Protection of Human Rights and Civil Society. Details will be announced by the Ministry of Justice and Public Order.

The Council of Ministers decided to adopt a National Strategy for the Promotion of Financial Literacy and Financial Education in Cyprus. A committee will be set up to implement the National Strategy.

The Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth to dismiss the teachers/athletes of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee from their teaching duties in order to to use them in information activities of students/three and teachers on disability issues and Paralympic sports.

The decision is part of the support of the athletes of the Cyprus National Paralympic Committee (K.E.P.E. ) and promoting the spirit of the Paralympic Games to public school students. “
