The Yianis Christodoulou Foundation (YCF), founded by Mr. John Christodoulou in 2016, is proud to announce the sponsorship of 15 new projects in Cyprus totaling € 370,000. The projects are related to the support and upgrading of the infrastructure of several public schools in Cyprus. The sponsorships, among others, concern the purchase of new school equipment, special software, building infrastructure and the assumption of covering the costs for small-scale construction needs of the school units.
A part of the money related to the announced sponsorships was collected at the Charity Festive Dinner that was successfully organized by the Foundation on July 8, 2021, in Limassol. The amount of € 300,000 raised during the charity event is distributed respectively to all public schools with special needs in Cyprus to meet their individual needs. Therefore, the Giannis Christodoulou Foundation (YCF), after receiving the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, is now ready to start the various projects.
& nbsp; It is worth noting that each of the 9 special schools is granted with 33,333 € to cover the following needs:
➢ Evangelismos Special School (Nicosia) – Construction of a steel roof at the entrance of the school, for protection of students from the rain and the sun.
Λευ Nicosia Special School (Nicosia) – & nbsp; Construction of an entirely new de-escalation room, which will provide students with a safe environment to relieve tension and stress, so that they can return to a state of calm.

& nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; Aglantzia High School (Nicosia) € 21,568, for the purchase and installation of a multi-sports floor for the outdoor basketball court.
& nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; Kaimakli After School Club (Nicosia) € 10,000 for the upgrade of the playground with the purchase and installation of safety floors and outdoor equipment.
& nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp ; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; All-day Primary School of the Heptagonia Thermal School (Limassol) € 18,564 for the upgrading of the home economy class.
The above most recent donation took place in an effort to alleviate the victims of the negative effects of the fires in Limassol. With the installation of a new kitchen, with new professional appliances, the school is now fully equipped so that it can offer home-cooked meals to all the children in the area who have been severely affected by the fires.
The YCF will support also in the coming months three more projects, worth over € 20,000, dedicated to children in need:
➢ Public Kindergarten (Alethriko) (€ 5,000), for the purchase and installation of safety floors in the playground school.
➢ Royal McDonalds House (€ 6,350) for the purchase and installation of new kitchen appliances. The house will accommodate families of children who are facing long-term hospitalization. last November.
The completion of the works will be inaugurated in special festive events in the presence of the founder of the foundation Mr. John Christodoulou. His presence and participation in the festive events is expected to be given by Mr. Christian Moore, son of the famous actor Roger Moore who had an active participation in the charity event in Limassol.
The selection of funded projects is linked to the YCF Foundation's mission, which focuses on providing support and assistance to a number of schools and communities in need of upgrading teaching and learning facilities, for the benefit of children. According to the founder himself, “helping and empowering children is the main priority of the Yianis Christodoulou Foundation, as our future depends on them.”
