With the amount of five thousand euros The Limassol Social Grocery was supported by the charitable action of the company Nexters in the framework of the OPAP Limassol Marathon.
Nexters, one of the five largest independent mobile video game companies in Europe, is a proud sponsor of the OPAP Limassol Marathon and through the event continues its long-standing charitable work. Through the charitable action “You Run! We Donate”, also offered during this year's event 1 euro for every runner of the individual routes who crossed the finish line during the OPAP Limassol Marathon.
The amount of money amounted to 5 thousand euros. The check was handed over on Thursday 11 May 2023 in a modest ceremony at the Limassol City Hall by Nexters Head of Operations Mr. Kyriakos Pafiti to the representative of the Social Grocery Mr. Christiana Tsiabartas and in the presence of the Mayor of Limassol Nikos Nikolaidis and the Business Development Director of OPAP Marathon Limassol Andreas Spyrou.
“It is with great pleasure that we support the largest sporting event in Cyprus, the OPAP Limassol Marathon, which promotes health, sports and volunteerism among other things. In the context of Nexters' corporate social responsibility and through the charitable action “You Run! We Donate” we send the message of the unity of humanity and solidarity, we support the Limassol Social Grocery and we help our fellow human beings in practice,” said Mr. Pafitis.
They expressed their special thanks to the head of operations of Nexters Kyriakos Both the Mayor of Limassol Nikos Nikolaidis and the Director of Business Development of the organization Andreas Spyrou praised the importance of the laudable action of the company Nexters through which smiles of hope are spread.
The Community Grocery of the Municipality of Limassol, operated the 2011 by decision of the municipal council. Its operation is based on voluntary contributions and is supported by various city agencies and voluntary groups. Beneficiaries of the social grocery store receive a package of food and basic necessities approximately once a month.
