The creation of new parking lots in the historic center of Nicosia, according to an announcement by the municipality of the capital, “is part of the general effort to revitalize and revive it within the city walls and aims to increase traffic in the area and facilitate visitors and residents of the old city “.

Welcoming the inauguration, which took place inside the parking lot at the junction of Trikoupi – Liasidou streets, the Mayor of Nicosia, Konstantinos Giorkatzis, said that “these projects, for the Municipality of Nicosia, are of major importance” for a number of reasons.

They work in collaboration with all the other projects that were done, are in progress and are planned in the city within the walls with the ultimate goal of revitalizing and reviving the area, they come to fill the gap of lack of parking in the center, which creates a problem for both visitors as well as for the residents of the area.

As he said, “it was designed, implemented and financed by the Municipality of Nicosia on a plot leased to him by the custodian of t / c property management and is part of the general plan for its revitalization within the city walls, which includes the creation of 24 parking spaces in Trikoupi Street and 36 parking spaces on Tempon Street “.

Finally, he congratulated the Mayor, the members of the Municipal Council and the staff of the Municipality of Nicosia who, despite the limited economic and special conditions due to the pandemic, “continue to implement a wider project for the revitalization of the capital”.
