Laureus, in partnership with SportsPro, named Nissan one of the world's most influential social brands in the Laureus Sport for Good Index. As the first of its kind, dedicated to corporate brands that pioneer the positive social and ecological impact of sport, this global index recognized Nissan as the only automotive industry to contribute to promoting sustainability in the transportation industry. Nissan's recognition is evidenced by the company's commitment to building a just society, reducing the ecological footprint of sport and developing the economy of the sports industry.

The index recognized Nissan's positive impact on sport, with Formula E providing the ideal testing ground for Nissan's electric future. Special mention is made of the brand's commitment to the purely electric event, as in this way Nissan encourages the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) by consumers, through its participation in the championship. Nissan was also praised for its sustainable solution at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam, home to Ajax Dutch football. For this project, Nissan has partnered with other partners for the supply of second-cycle EV batteries, with the aim of creating the largest European energy storage system installed on the field.

The index also highlighted Nissan's significant contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as defined by the United Nations, with the automotive industry praising its ambition to become carbon neutral by 2050. This is supported by Nissan's commitment that Every brand new vehicle offered in key markets worldwide will be “electrified” by the early 2030s.
