Mr. Ertugruloglou argued that Ms. Holgin failed to play any positive role, other than perhaps identifying the lack of common ground, while he questioned her objectivity, saying that “she failed to maintain her neutrality”, but also her knowledge of the issue, claiming that she “knows nothing about the Cyprus issue”.
According to “ypex” Ms. Holgin went beyond her duties, urging Cypriots to criticize their leadership. Mr. Ertugruloglou also mentioned that the role of Mrs. Holgin is not a mediator, but is limited to investigating the existence of common ground for the resumption of talks.
