The Minister of the Interior Nikos Nouris issued a written statement regarding the reactions of Organized Patient Organizations after his statements about the health situation at the Pournara First Reception Center.
Mr. Nouris points out that "as a person in the health field and active member of voluntary organizations I would be the last person to target patients. I apologize if this image was hacked.
This announcement:
Because I see an attempt to exploit my statements about the health situation at the Pournara First Reception Center by political circles that have always disagreed with the government's immigration policy, I want to repeat that there was and is not any intention on my part to cultivate fear, racism or xenophobia as some systematically want to attribute to me. I express anguish and concern at the organized and systematic promotion of thousands of irregular immigrants in our country.
However, I particularly want to refer to the reactions of the organized Patient Organizations and to assure them that my report on the health situation at the Center was not made , as they can easily see, of their own accord, but he was answering a journalistic question about the problems we face and the management we undertake.
As a person in the health field and an active member of voluntary organizations, I would be the last which would target patients. I apologize if this image was hacked.
