Photographic workshop for young people, aged 14-16, at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.

The European project FOODPRINT: The Mediterranean Diet Revisited (< strong>https://foodprint-project.com) and the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, invite young people, aged 14-16, to participate in a two-day photography workshop on January 27 and 28 under the guidance of award-winning photographer Myrto Papadopoulou.

The workshop will take place at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, starting with a guided tour of the Foodprint photography exhibition, which presents a contemporary portrait of the Mediterranean Diet. Then there will be an introduction to documentary photography and portraiture, and in addition there will be a photographic excursion, in which students will be invited to create a photographic narrative around the idea of ​​food and people. Participants will then present their work within the group, encouraging dialogue, the expression of ideas and feelings in the context of a creative process.

Material from the workshop will be selected to be presented in the context of a collective project that created on the occasion of the FOODPRINT exhibition at the EMST National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens in autumn 2023.

Photographer Myrto Papadopoulou was born in Greece and began her studies at the School of Fine Arts specializing in painting and photography. In 2006 he was a fellow at the ICP (International Center of Photography) in New York. In 2019/2020 he received a scholarship from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, he has been nominated for the Prix Pictet award and a Magnum Foundation scholarship. He works with international publications and organizations such as Smithsonian Magazine, Dior, National Geographic, TIME Magazine, The New York Times and others.

The program will be held free of charge and will include a light lunch.

The workshop will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 10:00 am &#8211 ; 15:00, at the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation.
