As reported by the Occupied Territories, Mr. Erhiurman in statements after the meeting emphasized the ICC solution with political equality, as mentioned in the UN Security Council resolutions. He also stated that there is a serious shortage in the (proportional) supply of vaccines to the Turkish Cypriot community and asked DISY to transfer this to the “Cypriot administration of southern Cyprus”.
On the issue of halloumi, Tufan Erhiurman stated that it is important to find a solution with joint action of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriots, regarding “the common good, which is halloumi, in accordance with Protocol 10. On the issue of of oil and olives, through the Green Line Regulation, the President of the RTK told the DISY delegation that there is no legal obstacle either from the EU institutions or from European law, but obstacles are brought by the government of the Republic of Cyprus and asked for these obstacles to be removed and for Mr. Neophytou to take the initiative in this direction.
Mr. Erhiurman also said that he conveyed to the DISY delegation the possible problems that will arise either with British citizens or with Turkish Cypriots who have a residence address in the occupied territories, but do not have “citizenship” of the pseudo-state.
Tufan Erhiurman said that it is very positive both for a comprehensive solution and for the development of relations between the two communities, to meet again with DISY soon after the realization of the informal five-party.
