One of the two power stations in the occupied territories is said to be out of operation due to a lack of fuel, while according to information from the KYPE, the Republic of Cyprus has been requested to grant a quantity of kilowatt hours through the interconnection system. The request is being considered.

The website Gutem Cyprus writes that alternating power outages due to insufficient production have been extended without an end date, and citizens who call the “electricity authority” in protest find no one answering the phones. The same website cites reliable sources that the fuel at the station at the Bank of Kyrenia has run out.

In his statements to “Bayrak”, the “deputy director” of the “electricity authority”, Vekil Direl admitted that there is a problem with fuel sufficiency, arguing that a new receipt is expected for the station in Kyrenia (SS: “state”, belongs to ” beginning”) in 5 – 10 days. Mid- and long-term efforts are being made to address fuel supply difficulties, he continued, saying that both generators from Turkey are undergoing trial checks and will also start generating power in a few days.

As Mr. Dirrell mentioned, increased power needs have led to the use of a million tons of fuel per day for production, and so supplies are running out faster.

Meanwhile, in the mass media and in the NQD, there is mention of a problem with mobile telephony as well. Provider companies have sent messages to their subscribers that due to overloading of the 3G network (SS: there is no 4G or 5G in possession), communication problems are being observed and efforts are being made to address them.
