The “BIMA” report about a mass exodus of Greek doctors in Cyprus was confirmed by OKYPY's press representative, Charalambos Charilaou, on state television, stressing that 25% of GESY's doctors are from Greece. .
In his statements to RIK, Mr. Harilaou stated that “a quarter of the doctors in the public hospitals are Greeks” and added that Cypriot doctors who want to return, after their studies, will certainly secure a position in the public hospitals, as the needs are large, especially in specialties such as nephrologists, pediatric nephrologists, endocrinologists, hepatologists and pediatric cardiologists.
The publication also mentioned that there are private clinics in Cyprus, staffed almost exclusively by Greeks doctors.
In addition, this development leads to the collapse of the National Health Plan of Greece.
