Students and parents staged a protest on Friday morning (18/11) outside the Technical School A’ in Nicosia.

The president of OLTEK (Organization of Technical Education Officers of Cyprus) Panagiotis Lyssandrou spoke at Mesimeri and Kati  who referred to the specific subject.

"This case has not started now, we know from the research we have done that there were two or three children who were causing problems at school. The management must and it is its duty to ensure to the 500 children who are at the school, a school climate so that they enjoy education. The protest of the children is absolutely respected, but it does not mean that they are necessarily right. he said.

He went on to say, "Many of the children walked out spontaneously because they were called by other students without knowing the reason. Most of the children have stayed inside the school, about 80% of the children.

He added that he does not think it was spontaneous because there were also children. "If the children have any complaints they can be investigated. The Ministry is investigating these children's complaints, but we must know that no child has been punished, just two children will change schools because the teachers' association has decided that it is good for them to start a new school career.
