The 23-year-old declares himself ready for the first competitive minutes
For a few days now, Nikolas Panagiotou has returned to Omonia's regular training program (after surgery on the abdominals – adductors), with Sofroni Augustis seeing in the young man's face another important choice in view of his match against Midland in Denmark.
1-0 in the first leg is an important step towards qualification, but from the facts the team will have to show improved and solid defensively to reach the qualification for the play offs of the Europa Conference League.
From the facts, Nikolas will hardly get a starting jersey as he does not yet have competitive pace, however if and as long as Sofronis Augusti needs a solution at the back then the young central defender will get competitive minutes. Besides, last season the 23-year-old was one of the most reliable solutions for the Cypriot coach, while despite his age in many games he acted as the leader in the defense.
In general, day by day, Nikolas increases his readiness and what he is waiting for is the opportunity from Sofroni Augustis to be on the field again.
