Boyska Polskiego stadium revisited
Omonoia's possible opponents became known in case it qualifies for the playoffs of theConference League, as it will be waiting there the winner from Legia Warsaw – Austria Vienna. The Poles are slightly the favorites to qualify from this pair with the “greens” having fond memories of their match three years ago.
Then, with a goal by Jordi Gometh, from the penalty spot, in the 92nd minute and Thiago in the 106th minute with a header, Omonia got a big qualification with 0-2 in Warsaw! Thus, the team from the capital advanced to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League.
In the 120 minutes of the match, Henning Berg had used five players from the current roster of the “cloverleaf”. In particular, the main and irreplaceable players were Fabiano Ribeiro, Ioannis Koussoulos, Jan Leciaks and Adam Lang, while Loizos Loizou played for the entire half hour of extra time.
It is also worth mentioning that two other football players of today's Omonia traveled to Poland but remained on the bench. The reason for Charalambos Charalambous and Charalambos Kyriakides who also got… a taste of the “Polish Army Stadium”.
