It is vital to make additions that will make a difference
At the forefront of news in Omonia is the management agreement between the company and the union. The two sides “reached out” verbally and what remains now is for the agreement to be presented to the union's General Assembly on 14/6 and to be voted on by the members.
At the same time, “it is running ” and planning as it is vital to make additions that will change the level of the team. The “clover” may have celebrated two cups and entry into a European group in the last two years, but it is generally accepted that the team from the summer of 2021 was not staffed as it should be.
In other words, after winning the championship in the 2020/2021 season, the planning of any transfer window (winter or summer) did not help the team to claim the title again. After all, this is what the results showed. The “greens” were left out of the first group in the 2021/2022 season, while in the season that just ended they finished in 6th place.
It is therefore very important that footballers who will make a difference, both in the league and in Europe, come to “Ilias Pullos” this summer. The qualification to the Conference League group is a non-negotiable goal, as is of course the return to the top of Cypriot football. In order to do this, however, the existing roster will have to be “inoculated” with quality transfers.
The competition in the league is clear that it has risen steeply. Therefore, in order for Omonia to claim the title, it will have to change its level competitively, which it did not do in any way in the last transfer periods…
