Official of Valdas Dabrauskas in Omonia! The “greens” announced the recruitment of the Lithuanian coach who will take over the technical leadership of the team from the 2024-25 season. The collaboration contract is valid until May 2026.

In collaboration with Giannis Anastasiou and the Scouting Department, the Lithuanian will immediately begin to carry out part of his duties, which mainly concern planning for the next season.

We remind you that our website was reported with a revealing report on February 21 (see HERE) about the impending Omonia-Dabrauskas agreement, while at the beginning of January (see HERE) we emphasized that the Lithuanian was the first favorite for the trefoil bench.

The announcement in detail:

We announce the hiring of Mr. Valdas Dambrauskas as coach.

Mr. Dambrauskas will take over the technical leadership of our team from the 2024-25 season, however – in collaboration with Mr. Anastasiou and the Scouting Department – ​​he will immediately begin to exercise part of his duties, which mainly concern the planning for next season.

The cooperation contract is valid until May 2026.

Mr. Dambrauskas is 47 years old and comes from Lithuania.

He has been working as a head coach in Clubs since 2012 and since then has won titles with four teams. He started with FK Zalgiris Vilnius, with whom he celebrated two championships, three cups and two super cups. He then led the RFS to the cup, a special achievement as this was the first title in the Club's history. Then, he managed to be crowned champion with Ludogorets Razgrad, also winning the Super Cup, while with the Bulgarian team he also qualified for the UEFA Europa League groups, knocking out Olympiakos Piraeus in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. He won the most recent title in Croatia with HNK Hajduk Split, with whom he was crowned cup winner. His last football station was OFI Crete.

Important distinctions were also his emergence, for three years, as the top coach of his homeland.

The final composition of the coaching staff for next season will be announced at the end of the current season, after which the evaluation will be done by Mr. Anastasiou, Mr. Dambrauskas and the Management.
