The “greens” are strong in the playoffs
Omonoia will compete with Midiland in the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference. The Danish team advanced in dramatic fashion to extra time over Progress and booked a place in the third qualifying round of the competition.
The first game will be played on August 10th at GSP and the second leg on the 17th of the same month at “MCH Arena”.
Midland's qualification sends Omonia into the strong draw of the conference playoffs, which will take place next Monday.
A few facts about Midiland:
Middiland faced AEK last year for the Champions League qualifiers, while previously they also faced APOEL. The team is coached by Thomas Thomasberg, who was hired in March 2023. Last year they finished 7th (1st in the second group) and secured a place in the Conference League. In fact, it reached the round of 32 of the Europa League, where it was eliminated by Sporting Lisbon. He counts a total of five trophies, two Cups and three championships, while counting appearances in European groups, the Champions League and the Europa League.
It has a good and full roster, with Ignacon, Martinez, Sisto, Maroni, Chilufa, Kaba, and Gwe Sung Cho to be their stars.
