In a three-hour work stop tomorrow, Tuesday, from 09:00 to 12:00, the Departments of Emergency and Accidents (TAEP) all over Cyprus, says, in its announcement, the All-Cyprus Union of Governments of Physicians (PA.SY.KI.).
“We have often referred to the perennial problems plaguing the TAEP in all public hospitals, with the main one being the severe understaffing of the last months . It is now impossible for the TAEP departments to operate safely with the existing understaffing and the extra workload that the doctors of the departments have by handling the short-term hospitalization workload of positive patients for the covid-19 disease”, he adds.
It also mentions that TAEP Doctors are forced to work more than their working hours without a day of rest and in most cases 12 to 18 hours a day.
He notes that during the three-hour work stoppage in the TAEP of the Public Hospitals patients will be served depending on the severity of the disease category 1 and 2.
“Finally let them be taken over and delivered responsibilities where appropriate”, concludes PA.SY.KI., in its announcement.
