The bronze sculpture stolen from Hani tou Ibrahim, in Paphos, has reportedly passed into other hands, with the Police expanding their investigations, for an offense involving theft, to two others persons.
According to the Press Spokesman of ADE Paphos and Head of TAE Paphos, Michalis Nikolaou, after the arrest of two persons, a 55-year-old and a 37-year-old – who are under four-day house arrest – and from the further examinations of TAE Paphos, testimony emerged, that at some stage the statuette passed into the possession of two other persons, aged 24 and 50.
Arrest warrants were issued against the 24-year-old and the 50-year-old for the crime of receiving stolen property. The 24-year-old was arrested and is in custody while the 50-year-old is wanted. A 43-year-old woman is already wanted for the same case.
Mr. Nikolaou stated that the bronze sculpture has not yet been located.
According to the Police, information was given on January 31, according to with which the 55-year-old man together with the 43-year-old wanted woman were in possession of the stolen statue depicting “The little girl with the hula hoop”. of estates in the area, some persons were seen to carry the statue by dragging it. A motorcycle was also seen coming and going in the area.
It is noted that when questioned, the 55-year-old allegedly confessed to committing the crime.
