A sum of money of 30 thousand euros seems to lost a 54-year-old man, from Limassol, who complained yesterday that he was cheated by a person who was chatting in an NQD, investing in a cryptocurrency platform.
According to the TAE Limassol, the 54-year-old man reported that last February he received a friend request from a woman who introduced himself to him under the name Anna Andre and who, through their daily conversations, convinced him to invest 30 thousand euros in an online cryptocurrency platform.
The complainant, with the woman's guidance, created an electronic wallet in which he transferred 30 thousand euros, with four transactions, from his bank account and then to the specific platform.
When he saw that his investment yielded profits, the 54-year-old tried to withdraw money, but without any result and realized that he was a victim of fraud.
The case is being investigated by the Economic Crime Investigation Office of the TAE Limassol.
