The Republic of Cyprus is on standby to help extinguish the fires in Greece.
According to a post on X by the press representative of the Fire Department, Andreas Kettis, the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis, is in constant communication with the Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Service, Nikos Longinos, who in turn maintains contact with the Chief of the Greek Fire Department, Lieutenant General Theodoros Vaya, expressing the readiness of the Republic of Cyprus, and by extension the Fire Service, to support firefighting in the fires raging in Greece.

In a new post, Mr. Kettis stated that, after communication and constant briefing of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Christodoulidis, by the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Marios Hartsiotis, on the situation of the fires in Greece, the Archpriest, Mr. N. Longinos communicated again with the Chief of the Fire Brigade of Greece Lieutenant General Theodoros Vaya where he expressed again today the intention of the Republic of Cyprus to send aid. The Chief of the Hellenic Fire Brigade informed the Chief Fire Chief about the current situation, he told him that the Hellenic Fire Brigade is operating with many air and ground forces in order to contain the fires and depending on today's development and evaluation on their part they will return for a mission aid from the Republic of Cyprus.
