"Chronic patients who are mechanically supported or use electrical appliances for their livelihood will be affected by power outages" says OSAK in a statement, in view of the strike and power cut expected tomorrow.

This is the statement

Correct and detailed information, even the last one , are needed by chronic patients for whom the uninterrupted supply of electricity is in some cases a matter of life and death.

The interruption of the electricity supply due to the mobilizations of the workers in the EAC will result in people on ventilators being at risk since they will depend on batteries or generators, which they may have but have not had time to properly maintain.

All chronic patients who use electrical devices in general to manage their condition will be affected in the same way.
Also people with disabilities who use wheelchairs and live in apartment buildings will be trapped inside or outside their home or work since it will not be possible to use elevators.

It is not possible for people living on ventilators to be at risk due to any labor dispute.

OSAK also calls on patients and their families to prepare properly to be able to deal with a power outage in their area at any time.

Finally, OSAK calls on all those involved to try to resolve their disputes in order to avoid the suffering of the citizens, in general.
