The energy future of Cyprus, the course of exploitation of energy deposits and the transition to a green economy were the topics developed during the 9th Energy Symposium, which took place on November 4 at the Press Center in Nicosia, with the support of the Hellenic Bank.
The symposium entitled “The new landscape for the energy tomorrow of Cyprus” heard the trends and challenges of the time, exchanged ideas, suggestions and practices of other countries with the aim of a sustainable energy model for our country.
The Senior Banking Director of Hellenic Bank, Mr. Foivos Stasopoulos, welcomed the participants at the beginning and stressed the practical support of Hellenic Bank to companies operating in the field of energy and especially in the field of Renewable Energy Sources, having social funding. “Last year we supported Renewable Energy production projects through loans totaling € 101 million, financing one of the most important wind farms in Cyprus and many other similar green energy projects,” he said.
