Open air festival of street artists in Paphos on August 26 – September 1
Paphos will host from August 26 to September 1Outdoor Festival of Street Artists (Pafos International Street Festival) with the participation of artists from all five continents. The festival is inspired by the popular European outdoor street festivals.
According to an announcement by the organizers, from August 26 to September 1, 2024, from 7:00 to 11:00 pm, there will be a wide variety performances by 20 international artists in seven different locations along the coastal road in Kato Paphos and in two squares in Ktima (Paphos town).
Up to 28 performances are scheduled each day for seven consecutive days, making it one of the biggest events ever held in Cyprus, as reported.
Great artists like Paul Morocco & Olé from the USA, Schuberth & Kapeller from Austria, Domenyk La Terra from Australia, Kwabana Lindsay from Britain, Duo Santus from France and others will delight the audience with music, dance, acrobatics, jugglers, tightrope walking, comedy numbers, fire shows, and many more. It is noteworthy that artists from all five continents will come, it is noted.
As stated, the festival will be open to all (no tickets required). It will be a multi-day festival where attendees will decide at the end of each performance what they will pay each artist, it added.
Performances in public places with tips have been around for centuries in Europe. The contribution of each member of the audience is traditionally given in a hat that is passed between the attendees at the end of the performance, it is clarified.
The festival is held with the support of the Municipality of Paphos and the sponsorship of several local organizations and businesses .
On Saturday August 31st at 10:00pm, as part of the Festival, a special performance will be held with many artists together, at the Baths, to raise money for the Paphos Cancer Support Group. Then there will be a party with dance and music with the Cypriot DJ Hadjimike until the morning hours.
