Mesimeri and Kati hosted the Metropolitan of Paphos Georgios who spoke about the archbishopric elections as well as the issue of abortions, transplants and homosexuals.

Speaking about his vision, he initially said that the placement of the Church of Cyprus next to the Ecumenical Patriarchate should continue. In addition, he added that the charitable work done by the Archbishop should be continued and expanded. "The many endowments that were activated and gave many scholarships, there is a possibility of expansion, there are many needy people today who can be given scholarships.  There is also the possibility of extending help to people who want to go abroad for an operation and cannot, the church's money is for’ this purpose, for charity, this role must be expanded».

He went on to say, "Our Bible written years ago has time values. But it must be interpreted in the way people think.  For example, some ironically argue that the church interferes in some things that do not concern it,  as in transplants and says there is such a thing in the Holy Bible? But there are general principles in the Holy Bible, its text is timeless. It was true thousands of years ago and it will be true thousands of years from now. We will turn to the Holy Bible with great faith and great attention and see the will of God as it is expressed, in this development of life and science.

It was then placed on a series of subjects. Initially, regarding abortions, he said the following, "the position of the church is that from the moment of fertilization the human being exists since no other genetic material is needed to increase the human being. Therefore  the protection of life is the position of the church.  Why’ this is why he recommends that abortion be avoided, it is murder for the church but the church tries to prevent such unwanted pregnancies. He can give refuge to a girl who does not want the child, to be protected and during the pregnancy the church will cover the costs and take responsibility for the child that will be born. The church has already kept several such cases out of the public eye.

< p>Regarding transplants, he said, "Transplantation is a blessing from God and each one of us must accept as long as we live to help a fellow human being, I did it.  What some resent about when death occurs, the church says that if three doctors assure us that a patient's course cannot be reversed, we should reassure the conscience of that person's relatives and donate their organs.

< p> About vaccinations he said, "Science is advancing and because of vaccinations many lives have been saved, the church cannot replace medicine".
Asked about homosexuals, he said, "for the church there are two sexes, but it always stands with great sympathy for all people. If science proves that this is something that happens from birth, then the church must submit to the Holy Bible and find answers.
When asked whether the respective Archbishop should be to some extent a politician, he said, "The Church of Cyprus had an ethnic role for eight whole centuries. When we were not a free state, the church had permanent responsibility for the education of the country. A part of our country is subservient and we have to keep this role by advising our responsible government.

Closing referring to the archdioceses he said, "The people have the right to send to the Synod three whom they consider they may become Archbishops. I believe that it should be done, but the people should pay attention to their positions in a sober way, in the church there is no need for confrontations.

The Holy Synod has the right to choose one of the three because it will cooperate with him. To elect the one who will cooperate best.

When asked if the first of the people should be an Archbishop, he said "certainly no, that is not the meaning of the statute. If that were the case, the statute would say that the Synod ratifies the first one.
