The president of DIKO, Nikolas Papadopoulos, requests the publication of the “Giorkatzi List” by the Speaker of Parliament. In the view of the Democratic Party, it raises two key issues that need to be addressed and on which further decisions may need to be taken by the House Plenary.

Exactly what the Democratic Party demands from the Speaker of Parliament in the following letter:
As a Democratic Party we had the opportunity to study the opinion of the day. 1.12.2020 that had been requested by the House of Representatives and which has been sent by the three reputable lawyers Messrs. Andreas Angelidis, Christos Triantaphyllidis and Achilleas Emilianidis regarding the publication of the “Giorkatzi List” (the “List”) by the House of Representatives.
In our view, this raises two key issues that need to be addressed and for which further decisions may need to be taken by the House.
1. The “cure” of the “irregularity” of the participation of the former Speaker of Parliament in the session of 17/7/20 while at the same time performing the duties of President of the Republic.
and
2. Whether a new decision of the Plenary Session should be taken for the publication of the “Giorkatzi List”.
In relation to the first question, the view of the lawyers is that the Parliament has accepted the “irregularity” of the participation of the former PtB in the process and therefore the previous decision for publication ceased to be valid. Therefore, in order for the publication of the List to proceed, the Parliament will have to take a new decision for the publication of the List at the Plenary level.
In relation to the second question, the legal analysis is not so clear. However, we must emphasize that for the Democratic Party, the question regarding the publication of the List is not legal. It is primarily political.
In any case, we believe that the List should be made public immediately.
Therefore, our suggestion as a Democratic party is:
(a) to correct the aforementioned “irregularity” of the former PtB's participation in the process with a new decision of the Parliament at Plenary level;
and
(b) to serve the purposes of transparency, accountability and restoring the credibility of the institution of the House of Representatives with a new decision for the immediate publication of the List.
We propose that the Plenary Session meet immediately and take a new decision on,
(a) the immediate publication of the List
and
(b) to give explicit authorization through this decision to the Speaker of Parliament to proceed with the publication of the List on the website of Parliament
