Dora Christodoulou

Even closer to the realization of the strategic goal for the transformation of the city into Smart and Digital, for a first expenditure of 10 million euros, is the Municipality of Paphos.

In this direction aims the tender that has been announced for the supply, installation, operation and maintenance of an integrated system of intelligent water resources management and water metering. The project cost estimate is 9.8 million euros and the implementation period is 36 months. The terms of the Competition are posted on the electronic system of the General Accounting Office of the Republic of Cyprus.

The new system will effectively contribute to reducing loss, improving quality and providing equal water availability. It will include, among others, the implementation of a leak prevention and detection system, the installation of 27,000 smart high-precision water meters and automatic meter reading, the implementation of a monitoring system, control and full automation of the water supply network and the implementation of an automatic chlorination system.

This new system follows the recent installation of another “smart” system that concerns parking in all parts of the city, while the implementation of projects for modern and “smart” public transport is now expected.
