Eleven cases were investigated in November by the Family Violence Unit of the Paphos Police Directorate, according to the press representative of the Paphos ADE and Head of the Paphos TAE, Michalis Nikolaou.
Mr. Nikolaou stated that the Family Violence Unit of the Paphos Police handled 11 cases in November, resulting in the arrest of 10 people.
All cases were registered before the Paphos District Court and exclusion/removal orders were issued to two cases.
According to Mr. Nikolaou, there are also pending arrest warrants for five people. In addition, Mr. Nikolaou mentioned that Klimakios also receives complaints by mail, received from various departments or government agencies. It is, he said, the importance given to the coordination of the Police, while special importance is given to the cooperation with the Social Welfare Services and with the hospitals for the treatment of the victims, he added.
He also added that without complaints the perpetrators are encouraged to repeat the offences.
