Paphos Mayor Faidonas Faidonos stressed that the new University will mark a new era for the city of Paphos. The investment of the facilities by AUB, he stressed, amounts to 29 million euros, the construction works are expected to start within the next June-July and to be completed within 12 months, aiming to start the lessons with the first year students in September 2023.
According to a written statement, Mr. Faidonos is a new University, which will be created by AUB under the name American University of Beirut-Mediterraneo. The University, which operates according to American standards, will operate, in the first phase, three Faculties in the fields of Computer Science, Economics and Business and the School of Civil Engineering, with the aim of hosting over two thousand students in the coming years. .
He noted that very soon another government plot of land will be added directly opposite the Carob Mills and expressed his satisfaction because the goal, as he said, set by the Local Authority to create a third pillar in the economy, that of University education along with the sectors of tourism and construction is being implemented at a rapid pace.
