Paphos hotel units have already started receiving messages of practical interest from foreigners for holidays in the province this year, but mainly after June. This is emphasized by the president of PASYXE Paphos, Thanos Michailidis, while pointing out that the climate in Britain and Israel is changing for the most positive, creating expectations in the tourism industry of the place.
The president of the Paphos hoteliers observes that people, due to the vaccinations in European countries, have started to feel that they will be able to plan their vacation this summer, which is why the last few days are recording increasing interest from foreign tour operators for Paphos.
“But most of all, this interest is placed from June onwards,” he clarified. “Hoteliers on our part, we would like this reopening of our units to begin as soon as possible to be ready for the first major wave of visitors in the summer.
To do this, however, we must first know what will happen to the Government staff support program implemented by the Government. “If this program continues in the coming months, the hotel units will be able to reopen even with very low occupancy.”
Thanos Michailidis described the messages of the last days from Britain and Israel as very encouraging. The very advanced vaccination program of these countries, he said, raises the expectation that the flow of visitors from the neighboring country can begin in April, while from the United Kingdom in May.
“The return to normalcy”, concluded the president of PASYXE Paphos, “will be close in 2022, if in the meantime we manage to work this summer with more visitors than last year”.
