The Cyprus Ports Authority participated in international conferences on issues related to the green and blue economy. In a statement, the Authority states that the first conference entitled “Sea of Experience” was held on 25 October 2021 in the framework of the implementation of the relevant European program, funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and aims to create a network of competent bodies in Eastern Mediterranean region in relation to shipping issues. The Cyprus Ports Authority was represented as a speaker by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Antonis St. Stylianou, presenting a speech entitled “Sustainable Ports: The Ports of the Future” in which he developed, among other things, issues related to the adaptation of ports and port activities to climate change, issues of sustainability and sustainability, the obligation of international cooperation and green issues regarding the operation and activities of port operations. At the second conference, held on October 26, 2021, which was under the auspices of the Forum of Archipelago and Island States established as a United Nations Development Program, Dr. Antonis St. Stylianou, as the keynote speaker of the Conference, presented a speech entitled “Governance and management of port operations for the development of key sectors of the blue economy”, in which he referred to examples of good governance in the field of ports and port activities, restrictions and the prospects that emerge through the implementation of new methods of governance that include the sectors of the blue economy. |
