The statements of the head of the Anorthosis basketball department
The captain of the basketball department of Anorthosis, Sakis Pasha, spoke about the deviations that took place on Sunday at “Eleftheria” on SPORTS FM 95.0 and the show “Kane giois” with Stella Sokratous.
For the episodes:“We at Anorthosis feel ashamed and very disappointed about what happened. Instead of talking about a celebration of basketball, we're talking about anything but basketball.””We are in the process so that we can collectively decide our next steps regarding this process. Our approach is that we do not want to publicize the actions we will take. We want to address the authorities with some questions and concerns regarding what happened the day before yesterday”.
Regarding Apollo's complaints: “There were quite a few people inside the stadium. I'm not the one to judge what happened. I could say too much. To assign responsibilities where they should and to be able to find an end to the issue that is being created”.
For the way tickets are distributed:“There was a process that was decided at last Tuesday's meeting. We were told that the only way tickets were distributed was through online sales. That's what we did. We did not allocate a single ticket, neither to organized nor to our own people. I had asked for an update on Sunday about the tickets, we were told that 400 tickets had been allocated on the Anorthosis side and about 90 tickets on the Apollo side. We saw 300-400 Apollo fans enter the stadium, we don't know how they got in and if they got in with tickets. How is it that there are incidents with the Police outside the stadium and then they are allowed inside? How they were searched and fans brought in dangerous objects. I'm also talking about the fans of both teams. There were battles afterwards. There should have been a better coordination regarding the distribution of tickets. I don't know if there were enough monitors to do the job.”
