In April 2022, total sales of petroleum products reached 112,803 tons, an increase of 17.5% compared to April 2021, according to data from the Statistical Service. & nbsp;
Analytically, there was an increase in oil supplies to aircraft (484.5%) and ships (15.5%), as well as sales of light fuel oil (69.3%). On the contrary, a decrease was recorded in the sales of kerosene (82.2%), asphalt (54.2%), heating oil (31.0%), diesel (14.0%) and gasoline (-1.7%). Regarding in particular the sales from oil stations, they showed a decrease of 9.8% to 47,856 tons.
It is added that total sales of petroleum products in April 2022 compared to March 2022 fell by 5.9%. Indicatively, the supplies of oil in airplanes increased by 81.0%, while on the contrary the sales of gasoline decreased by 4.9% and of diesel by 7.6%. Total oil stocks at the end of April 2022 increased by 7.5% compared to the end of the previous month.
During the period January – April 2022, total oil sales increased by 21.9% compared to with the corresponding period of the previous year.
It is pointed out that the collection of data on Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum is carried out on a monthly basis. It concerns the sale of petroleum products from petrol stations and sales to government departments, British bases and the United Nations, to ships and other customers, as well as stocks at the end of each month. Only oil companies are covered. In addition, it includes the import of petroleum products directly from the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) and the manufacturing industry.
As mentioned, the & nbsp; data collection is done on a monthly basis by the Statistical Service, which receives electronically the a specially designed questionnaire from each of these companies.
