Poaching: 718 fines from 2017 – Over two million euros

Since July 2017 until today a total of 718 have been published out of court for poaching, with the total cost exceeding € 2,300,000, according to the interior minister. Nikos Nouris, in response to a relevant question from Larnaca MP of DIKO Christos Orfanidis, cited data related to complaints and out of court in relation to poaching.

The data are based on information received by him the minister from the Thera and Fauna service.

More specifically, from the central monitoring system that operates in the service, the following emerge:

  • From July 2017 until Today, a total of 718 out-of-court settlements have been issued with total fines in excess of € 2,300,000.
  • The said squad reported 74 cases of poaching.
  • Since November 2019 until today, the Police have reported 13 cases of poaching, while 11 cases have been reported in cooperation with the Hunting and Fauna Service with the Police and 293 cases have been Mrs. Mr. Nouris noted that “all poaching cases are reported to the local Police Stations, where the Examiner Police of each case, after studying the facts , records the offenses committed by the complainant and on the basis of the offenses issues the relevant extrajudicial fine. “
