Five people were arrested in the province of Famagusta for the crime of illegal stay on the territory of the Republic and are in custody awaiting orders for their detention and deportation.
As Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Directorate, reported to KYPE, “from six to 9 in the morning on Thursday, February 2, a coordinated operation was carried out in Ormidia in which members of the Famagusta Police Department, the Xylotympos Police Station and the immediate patrol took part intervention of the ADE Famagusta, led by the officer in charge of the Xylotympos Police Station”.
He added that during the operation five people were arrested for the crime of illegal stay on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
“All those arrested have been transferred and are being held in police custody, and detention and deportation orders are expected to be issued against them,” he said.
